This data display is designed for any community member to see how we support newcomers, immigrants, and refugees as they resettle in the Fox Valley. The data for this display came from a survey conducted from December of 2023 to March of 2024. 100 organizations and 125 individuals who identify as newcomers responded to the survey. 

The data is organized by sector. The intent is to be able to see how well our community is responding to the needs of our newcomer population within and across each sector. One thing that is important to point out is that only a portion of our community and community organizations and corporations participated in the survey during its first year.

With more organizations and individuals participating in future years, we will be able to use the data to:

• interpret the effectiveness of different programs or services being offered

• show where service gaps exist within or across sectors

There is a lot we can learn by examining this data. Please look at the map to see which organizations reported supporting Newcomers across each sector, and how they do so.

The data analysis underscores the need for a more coordinated approach to meet newcomer needs effectively, emphasizing both in-sector and external organization efforts. The data across various sectors—such as Employment, Education, Healthcare, Legal, Finance, Housing, Recreation, Basic Needs, Transportation, and Language & Literacy—reveals both strengths and gaps in service provision for newcomers in the Fox Valley region. Each graph shows services that support Newcomers as they resettle in the Fox Valley and become part of our community. The services are all grouped by sector. The Newcomer respondents were asked to select services across sectors that they would like to see more of, and have easier access to. The organization respondents were asked to select services across sectors that they currently offer, or have plans to offer in the future.
