Each organization in our community cannot make positive changes to the experience that Newcomers have alone. If we want to make an impact at the community level we need to work together.

Each individual and each organization has a responsibility to be prepared to support the needs of all our community members, fulfilling their mission driven work for all members of our community to thrive. This work, of course, happens in the microsystem, the immediate environment in which an individual interacts daily. At the neighborhood level, in the mezosystem, we find a different level of responsibility to each other and our community - to be connected, to know one another, and to offer care, safety and relational support. Our experiences in the microsystem and mezosystem lead us to seeing where those organizations coordinate to align opportunities for a thriving life. When our community’s leaders and decision makers have an opportunity to purposefully align funding, knowledge and our time across sectors, we can make changes that impact the design of our communities.
