Immigration Support Group
There are three projects this team is working on:
Know Your Rights Training – The Know Your Rights training empowers immigrants and refugees by providing them with essential information about their legal rights in various situations regarding immigration officials. Participants learn what their rights are when interacting with immigration officials in different situations (at home, at work, in public). The Know Your Rights trainings also provide guidance on developing a family preparedness plan and how to access available resources without fear. By equipping attendees with this knowledge, the training helps foster confidence, safety and informed decision-making.

Immigration Advocacy Training – This workshop equips participants with accurate information and key perspectives when navigating difficult conversations about immigration and refugees. This training is designed to empower community members to be prepared to support individuals or families who could be vulnerable under the current presidential administration. The training includes common misconceptions surrounding immigration, how to approach conversations with storytelling and kindness over debate, Know Your Rights for bystanders, impacts of current policies, and practical steps for advocacy.
